ID Spa Card for Elisabeth
Binjung - 1921:
In the year 1921
Elisabeth Binjung was in "Health Spa
Margaret-Island"
Seems, it was already
at that time an absolutely good health
spa, because the ticket was kept such a long time
*g*.
BINJUNG name appears in
the Banatian villages Sackelhausen, St.Hubert,
Georgshausen, Stefansfeld. The first BINJUNG (born 1728)
came 1768 from Silwingen, near Merzig "aus
dem Trierischen."
His name was written
PINION and 1768 he first went to Sackelhausen. Other
spellings I found where PINJUNG, PIGNON, BERJUNG, PINJO,
BINJONG. [info from

The FB Stefansfeld
says, the family Binjung came from Silwingen. That's
now a part of the German town MERZIG in Saarland,
near Lorraine. Formerly it belongs sometimes to
Lorraine, sometimes to "Kurfürtentum Trier" and from
1778 until 1815 to France. (http://www.merzig-silwingen.de/silwingen/geschichte.htm)
The origin spelling
PINION or PIGNON sounds French and I believe, after
the war 1618-1648 the family came (like many others
in this region) from Lorraine or France as new
settlers to the nearly total destroied village
Silwingen. One can still find the name PIGNON today
in the phone book of Merzig. * Above information
