* explanatory, added by translator. NT

The document shows that some Danube Swabians took the train from Temeswar to Cherbourg, a French port on the Atlantic, to begin their transatlantic trip.
Both in Vienna and in Paris they had to go from one railway station to another, not a very simple maneuver at any time, especially with lots of luggage.

Letter from Marie (Ingrisch) Erbach to Margaret Ingrisch (Kullowitch) 1929

From: M. Erbach (Marie)
1718 Madison St.
Brooklyn, NY

October 10, 1929

To: Miss Margaret Ingrisch

Chicago, IL
Lincoln Park

Dear Margaret!
Just a few words, I sent your cloths and everything that belonged to you.  Write me immediately, if everything arrived safely. I can't find a birth certificate, this is all you brought from home. If you need it so desperately, you have to write home and request for another one. Hope you have the bank book, I forgot to write to you that the money I owed you, enter it in the book so you can see it.
Something else, when you receive all your clothes, the postage is paid, you don't have to pay anything. Write me as soon as possible when you receive it and if everything was in order.

Dear Margret, didn't you find larger paper to write on, it didn't even fit in my mail box (teasing).  Everything seems to be in order at our place. Even though I go out, but still wrote lots. The weather is reasonable.

Many greetings and kisses, from your aunt,
Marie

[Translation by Alex Leeb] P.S. - regarding the date the letter was written, would be, Marie began to write the letter on the 6th, and completed writing it on the 10th, That is my guess.
